Most attorneys who handle Social Security Disability cases will accept them on a contingent fee basis of 25% of back benefits, or $6,000, whichever is less. (This amount can be changed from time to time by the Social Security Administration) That is, there is no fee if you lose. If you win, the attorney is limited to receiving a portion of your past-due or back benefits only. An attorney will not receive any of your future monthly benefits. Some attorneys may charge for out-of-pocket expenses, such as photocopying expenses, payment to doctors and hospitals for medical records and medical reports, etc. Hoglund, Chwialkowski & Mrozik, PLLC does not charge clients for these types of expenses.
